Keep the exact instructions
The most useful care guide is the one supplied with your exact glass. Save it, or photograph the packaging before recycling it. Record the model number as well: products in the same range can have different finishes, decorations or instructions.
Choose a washing routine before choosing a design. If everything in your kitchen normally goes into the dishwasher, make that a shortlist requirement. Personalisation can change the decision: Dunelm specifies warm soapy hand washing for its Personalised Cafe Latte Glass. A gift recipient should know that requirement before their first wash.
Do not carry care permissions across an entire brand. Duralex’s use-and-care page distinguishes its clear glass ranges from certain coated and decorated finishes. Check the section that names your product rather than stopping at the first dishwasher symbol you find.
Separate care permissions
Separate dishwasher, microwave, freezer and oven permissions. One does not automatically grant another. If a product page is silent about an appliance you want to use, ask the manufacturer or retailer instead of assuming that all glass behaves the same way.
When loading a dishwasher, follow both the glassmaker’s instructions and your dishwasher guidance. Check that the shape fits the rack properly and that the handles have space. A tall latte glass may influence how you arrange the upper rack, so include washing space in your measurements before purchasing a set.
Use the cleaning methods the manufacturer recommends. Avoid improvising abrasive tools or chemical treatments simply because a mark is stubborn. If a double-wall glass develops an unfamiliar appearance between its layers, contact the supplier with the model number and a photograph rather than trying to open or repair it.
Make daily care straightforward
Keep the instructions with your order record. That small habit makes later questions about care, replacement or a matching second pair much easier to answer. It also helps prevent a useful daily glass from becoming an item nobody is confident washing.
